CONTEMPORARY CALLIGRAPHY: MODERN POINTED BRUSH LETTERING AT MISSA | July 22 & 23, 2023
Hello friends and art lovers:
Things have been a little quiet in the studio so far this winter, but I do have some exciting news looking ahead to this summer. I will be teaching a two-day workshop at MISSA (Metchosin International Summer School of the Arts) on July 22 and 23, 9 am – 4 pm which includes lunch. This is the second summer that this art retreat has been held at the impressive campus of the private secondary school Shawnigan Lake School.
My intention is to make this a fun and relaxing two days working with brushes for lettering and projects with watercolour and gouache too. You can choose to stay on campus or book your own accommodation. Grab a friend and register for this lettering retreat!
In this slow-paced workshop, we’ll learn a contemporary pointed brush alphabet that’ll make your calligraphy more expressive. Expand your artistic repertoire with this versatile and fun lettering style, which we’ll explore using inspirational quotes and the Pentel Color Brush pen, watercolours, gouache with a pointed paint brush.
