Finding the Way

This Solarplate etching was created with a photo Kathy took while hiking in Mount Douglas Park in Victoria BC.  The photo is copied to a transparency film then the Solarplate is covered with a light sensitive polymer coating and using an artificial UV exposure box to etch the Solarplate.  Ink is applied to the plate, wiped off to only leave the ink on the etched lines/areas of the image.  The prints are created on paper using an etching press which is a very involved process with many steps.
